My current job is Head of Digital Operations at The Stylist Group. I have been at the heart of the digital arm of The Stylist Group (previously Shortlist Media) for nearly 5 years during which time we have delivered extraordinary growth of both product and digital teams. I initially joined as project manager where I followed the principles of testing and learning, setting clear success/failure metrics and iterating on the products and features we delivered - an essential approach especially in a small but growing team as it then was.
Following the success of the websites, came the need to scale up but still on a tight budget which we managed to do by choosing young talented individuals and helping them grow and develop. The team grew from just two developers when I started to a digital team of 20+ currently. Given the size of the team when I joined it was necessary to get involved in any and all which came up, an environment I thrived in.
Below is a list of some of my key recent accomplishments however you will see from my CV that I have a very broad range of experience:
- Delivered 81% growth in digital revenue and more than doubled monthly unique users’ year on year to 2.8M.
- Developed and involved in ongoing management of budget control system and resourcing of new projects and projected budget for financial year of audience, broadcast/email and web development teams.
- Critically monitored digital costs and third party contracts and successfully saved 2-3% of company turnover and 77% reduction of departmental budget with no loss of output or staff.
- Ensured overall GDPR compliance as per prescribed standards and acted as point of contact for customers, clients, and suppliers, including creation and distribution of internal policies.
- Identified and led tech focus on development of Stylist in the US delivering more than 259% increase in US Unique Users (including Apple News) and 177% onsite in 2019 and 175% increase in pageviews (including Apple News) and 125% onsite.
