Siemens Traffic Controls, Unit 1 The Furlong, Berry Hill Industrial Estate.
Responsible for tendering activity for traffic signals installations for Wales, West Midlands, East Midlands, North East and North West geographical areas (approx £20 million per year)
Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage the tendering process in the regional offices (team of 4) to ensure the timely delivery of costs and selling rates for tenders.
• Maintenance of a standard data library and costing spreadsheets to aid the tendering process and record keeping.
• Contribute to the provision of monthly statistics to the Head of Tendering and Sales Director
• Recruitment, Training & Mentoring staff
• Compile quotations by creating items lists and "take off" lists from site drawings
• Examine and interpret specifications for equipment
• Make suggestions to local sales and contract managers to determine the best price to submit, and discuss any final strategy to win
• Collate all costs and calculate prices for the quotation
• Ensure that company signature protocol is applied to the submission
• Prepare summary sheets for discussion with Senior management at formal tender vet
• Accurately log enquiries and ensure the timely submission of competitively priced, technically and commercially sound responses with close liaison with Contract Managers and Engineers.
• Validate sub-contract orders ensuring that contract conditions are in line with company guidelines.
• Present and handover a comprehensive information pack to the appropriate Contract or Project Manager or Engineer following contract award.
• Prepare Pre-Qualification Tender Questionnaires
