SQL Developer
Audatex.
I was responsible for maintaining and improving the back-end of a data driven application in a SQL
Server 2014/2017 environment. The application offered Analytics (using Pentaho) and model
based predictions to dozens of automotive insurer clients globally.
In addition to implementing change requests, I improved the efficiency of the existing ETL
process (written in T-SQL, stored procedures and SSIS) and enabled it to handle larger
volumes of data.
I was the Architect of a Kimball Data Warehouse and began to decouple the data aspects of the application and move it into the new global DW.
As well as creating new reports, I migrated existing SQL scripts and application based data
extracts and reports into SSRS.

Senior Business Intelligence Developer
Laing O'Rourke.
Initially I helped to integrate a new expenses system with existing systems using T-SQL, stored
procedures and SSIS. Subsequent extensions allowed me to work on additional projects such as:
Being part of a team to develop a complex ETL process and several SSAS cubes that refresh
every 15 minutes for the Finance Department.
Importing HR data into the global Data Warehouse.
Developing a C# application to download data from a third party asset management tool via
their APIs. The data was then manipulated using views ready for user consumption and SharePoint integration.
Developing a custom SSIS script task to process data from a complex Excel spreadsheet
containing data on Laing O'Rourke's daily cash position and load it into the DW.
Importing timesheet data from a MS SQL Azure based third party application into the global
Data Warehouse and generating reports based on this data.

Senior Business Intelligence Developer
Laing O'Rourke.
I worked as part of a team to migrate away from a complicated SAP and Oracle reporting solution
to a brand new globally centralised Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Data Warehouse. The DW
consisted of a heavily normalized, conformed Master Data database and various denormalized
data marts in a Kimball Star Schema. The data was sourced from a huge variety of vendors,
systems and locations.
I increased the team’s productivity by creating a C# tool to automate unit testing.
I designed and implemented a data mart to house financial data imported from Tagetik for the
BPA team. The solution included 3 multidimensional SSAS cubes.
After successfully delivering the financial cubes, the BPA team acquired me to help deliver their
Qlikview dashboarding projects. During this time I was responsible for building and testing the
Qlikview data models and modifying the DW as required. I was also responsible for any front
end visualisations that were too complicated for the BPA analysts to develop.

Data Warehouse Developer
Celerity.
My role at Celerity was to design and develop CRM Data Warehouses using a Kimball model for
consumption by Adobe Campaign (Neolane) and FastStats. Development was in SQL Server 2005
and 2008 R2 environments. I created ETL processes using TSQL, stored procedures and SSIS
including custom VB/C# scripts and components. Projects included:
As part of a team I created a new CRM DW for a large blue chip insurance company.
I designed and implemented change requests to enhance capability and performance of a DW
with billions of rows for a large telecommunications client.
I took the technical lead to deliver a daily single customer view for a blue chip hospitality client
featuring millions of EPOS records per day. As part of this I created a tool to dynamically create
SSIS packages to speed up development.
During my downtime I created a key-value pair in-memory array in C# to reduce a 48 hour sorting process down to 12 minutes.

Report Developer
Exony.
My primary function at Exony was to develop SSRS reports for various clients using T-SQL and
MDX on a pre-existing Data Warehouse. To achieve this, I built additional ETL processes using
SSIS or DTS, stored procedures and views. I also modified the SSAS cubes where necessary. My
role also encompassed deployment to live productions systems, sometimes with client oversight.
Client instances of SQL server ranged from 2000, 2005 and 2008.
