The City of Canning All Staff Enterprise Agreement 2013 had recently been approved and the HR Business Partners
were heavily involved in the roll out and implementation of the new EBA. Some of the projects I was tasked with included:
• Full review an update of all policies, procedures and employment contracts in line with the new EBA;
• Development of new initiatives as per the new EBA;
• Back pay project - I was tasked with reviewing all Canning personnel salary history. This included correcting
discrepancies, streamlining the pay increase process and rolling out to management.
• HRIS - I lead the team responsible for the transfer of documents to TRIM the HRIS
As an HR Business Partner, I delivered operational and strategic direction, advice and support to the City's
Infrastructure and Environment division consisting of approximately 320 employees.
This was a very busy and varied role. Key responsibilities included:
• Providing guidance and advice on the possible amalgamation;
• Provide advice and support on recruitment related activities including updating position descriptions, strategies
for sourcing and selecting and participate in selection interviews;
• Interpretation of Enterprise Agreement and provide advice and guidance to management and staff;
• Assisting management with conduct, performance issues, disputes and concerns within their team;
• Provide support and guidance with Fitness for Work and Return to Work case management in conjunction with the Health and Safety team;
