Projects:
1. Amazon Warehouse Magdeburg (M&E Value: £27 Million):
Role: Assistant M&E Quantity Surveyor
Situation: project started in February 2019 but no valuation system was in place for electrical package worth £1.3 million. Sub-contractor was sending overvalued payment applications to MechFS.
Task: to set a proper valuation system applicable to all subcontractors starting with existing electrical valuation issues.
Actions: I did a complete Electrical Take Off and Mechanical. From the electrical take off, I produced a valuation sheet incorporating the sub-contractor agreed schedule of rate.
Results: the new take off helps to determine the new contract value of £1.156 Million rather £1.3 Million with a saving of just over £150,000. Monthly valuation was now brought under control in order to validate sub-contractor payment application accurately.
2. Brackkley Care Home (Mechanical Only Value: £720,000)
Role: M&E Quantity Surveyor
Situation: project started in September 2019 with Deeley Construction Ltd as main Contractor to supply and install Mechanical package as per main client specifications.
Task: to cost manage project. To capture variations accurately
Actions: I did a Procurement Schedule in order to produce sub-contract packages. Once procurement packages identified, I sent out drawings to various sub-contractors for pricing then using matrix selection criteria method, chose best sub-contractors. I also set up Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) template for cost monitoring and reporting.
Results: Project started well with £65,000 saving from better buying procurement exercise. Many variations were captured accurately and explained to PQS successfully.
3. Travelodge Stockley Park, Uxbridge (M&E Package Value: £1.2 Million)
Role: M&E Quantity Surveyor
Situation: project started in October 2019 with main contractor Cleggs Construction Ltd to supply and install Mechanical and Electrical packages as per client specifications.
Task: to cost manage project.
Actions: I did a Procurement Schedule in order to produce sub-contract packages. Once procurement packages identified, I sent out drawings to various sub-contractors for pricing then using matrix selection criteria method, chose best sub-contractors. I also set CVR template for cost monitoring and reporting
Results: Project started well but with low saving due to Travelodge nominated supplier costs.
Additional Project such as Omega Park in Warrington valued £193,000 and value grew to £265,000 due successful capture of variations. Final result was 23% margin rather 18% predicted.

Actions: Procurement Schedule was already in place. I did value sub-contractors work to issue payment notices as well as payment applications to main contractor.
Results: CVR reports were produced on monthly basis and sub-contractor accounts were managed properly.
