job
Project Manager
unknown.
The main focus of the role is based upon three aspects of a project, winning contracts, which includes the formulation of tender documents specifically quantity surveying, estimate procurement and project planning.
Following the awarding of the contract, during the project pre-start phase, I am responsible for managing contract
particulars, booking contractors, material procurement and regulatory planning. During the works, I have daily
contact with the site management regarding adherence to delivery schedules, I am responsible for the 'Just in time' flow of materials and contractors through site along with quality control.
• I am also responsible for managing the company quality and environmental management systems ensuring
compliance with ISO:9001 and ISO:14001 standards. This focuses mainly on health and safety compliance,
environmental compliance, documentation control, evidence gathering and internal auditing to maintain award
accreditation.
• I report directly to the Managing Director and due to the fact the company is small I am required to be nimble in my
practices reacting to each situation as it occurs to reach the desired resolution within budget, specified timescales
and to expected quality.
• I am responsible for managing the relationships with the clients, contractors, suppliers, site staff and regulators
from first contact to delivery and beyond to ensure the desired outcome is achieved.
• Due to the nature of the role and the requirement to operate across many sites I am required to be able to manage
my time to accommodate meetings in a variety of locations. The role also requires me to operate independently and flexibly dependent on workload and deadlines.

Project Manager
Imperial Designs.
I was initially recruited for my combined background in finance and construction, reporting into the company
director, I was tasked with leading on the identification of an array of cost saving initiatives. Through the implementation of a range of practices at every level of the business from procurement to property construction
and management I delivered against every required KPI.
• We were a small, boutique, construction firm undertaking regular projects and subsequent portfolio management
for a small number of ultra high net worth clients based primarily in the Middle East. Due to the nature of the clients location and schedule it was important that I could operate flexibly, often attending video conference calls
at irregular and anti-social hours.
• On the construction side of the role I was also responsible running regular meetings with all contractors to discuss
issues and manage workarounds, for developing project timelines and ensuring contracted firms were maintaining
adherence to those timelines, along with budgets and delivery standards. I was also responsible for the procurement of work estimates and organisation of contracts.
• Reacting to problems with haste and efficiency to ensure adherence to exceptionally high maintenance standards
was fundamental, this required me to be logical, adaptable and available when required.
