I have always had a passion for creativity. So I decided to transition from IT support into digital design. I spent many years working in IT support and eventually realised it wasn't for me. I then dedicated myself each day to learning web design best practices and created my own portfolio which landed me a job within the field and I never looked back. I now continue to strive at being the best I can at this craft, facing new challenges, always growing and having a lot of fun along the way. My goal is to solve problems using digital design. I utilize graphic design applications such as Adobe Photoshop, illustrator and my skills in front-end development to create engaging experiences. Hochanda.
Hochanda, an acronym for Home Of Crafts Hobbies AND Arts, is a 24/7 TV channel that
launched on Thursday 27th August 2015. HOCHANDA, was created in response to
feedback from crafters and hobbyists on what they want from a TV channel and aims to educate, inspire and entertain its viewers, whilst showcasing craft, hobby, and art products to purchase.
My responsibilities are as follows:
• Work closely with the senior designer to design and developed the front-end of the website, overseeing all creative direction
• Research, wireframes, prototypes, visual UI design, HTML, CSS SCSS, Microsoft
visual studio, and adobe creative suite (Photoshop / Illustrator / Adobe XD), Figma,
Sketch
• Work side-by-side with programmers and communicating the functionality of how the website should behave
• Work with the digital marketing team and product management to ensure effective
marketing throughout the website for our various brands
• facilitating the marketing team by designing web banners, flyers, marketing emails
(Mailchimp), business cards, booklets, and social media assets.
Blogging - Writer / Web designer / Digital Marketer
I create my own blogs around subjects I am passionate about.
The goal of the website is to successfully build a following, connect with other influencers in the space and generate a supplementary income via monetization of the blog.
