I'm offering
I’ve been learning and working within web development for as long as I’ve owned a computer. Starting in 1999 as a hobbyist making websites for the sake of it, progressing to developing and managing long-term fansite projects and then, since 2011, working full time professionally.
My main focus throughout most of this time is PHP, but I have some experience with other back-end languages such as C#, Ruby (On Rails) and Python. In both my hobbyist activities and as my job as a full-stack Senior Developer, I’m fortunate to have had the opportunity to also work a lot on the front-end and server-side/Dev-Ops as well, allowing me to plan, develop, manage and deploy any project from start to finish.
On the front-end, I have experience with several frameworks such as Angular, Ember, React and Vue, as well as a good understanding of general ECMAscript 6 features, and of course jQuery and native ES5 Javascript.
On the server-side, as I primarily focus on PHP, my experience with setting up and maintaining Apache servers has been vital. I’ve managed the continuous integration process and deployment for both my personal and professional projects, with some general experience in working with and managing AWS accounts and instances.
In my role as Senior Developer at Savvy Marketing, I’ve been responsible for multiple projects on big-name brands - such as Morrisons, Britvic, adidas, LEGO, Kerry Foods and Symingtons - from the beginning (planning/scoping/briefing) to end (development/management of staff resource/deployment). Part of this role for many years was also the introduction of new technologies, tools and project workflows, as well as managing and helping Junior Developers in growing their own roles. Notably, I developed and introduced two reusable CMS codebases - initially based in CodeIgniter, the framework already in use in our legacy projects, and then later in Laravel - that existed as the backbone of the majority of our projects for over 5 years, allowing quick and agile responses to client briefs with fully-featured CMS-driven websites that we could easily build-upon for each custom need.
