I'm offering
Having recently completed my PhD in Molecular nutrition & metabolism, and subsequently working
as a Senior scientist & as a regulatory affairs specialist, I have gained solid experience and
valuable insights into research, health, and the pharmaceutical/chemical industry. Both my
PhD/MSc degrees, and industry experience have provided me with the relevant skills; e.g. project
management, data handling, analytical, presentation, and communication skills required to continue
my career in regulatory affairs. My PhD and industry experience have also enhanced my skills in
project management, grasping new concepts quickly, working under pressure to strict deadlines,
mentoring and people management, critical thinking, complex problem solving, and budgeting.

Study management of method development/transfer, and non-reg
toxicity PK studies, development and improvement of analytical
methodology of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals
- Prepared GLP-compliant methods and documentation, and prepared
study records which are to be communicated to the study sponsor
SKILLS s
Studying for a research based PhD and subsequently working as a Senior scientist & regulatory
specialist have helped enhance and develop my skills in report writing, report summarising,
negotiation, literature research & reviews, scientific writing, statistical analysis, presentation of
scientific results at (inter)national conferences, collaboration with and working in industry (Unilever, Netherlands) and supervision/management of BSc & MSc students. I have extensive knowledge of writing and following SOPs, health and safety regulations, radiation training and procedures for
filling in COSHH forms.
Communication: I have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Presentation of results and methods in meetings and international conferences has helped to enhance these skills.
As part of my PhD I also had a responsibility to teach undergraduate seminars and assist in practical classes. I also had the opportunity to manage and mentor BSc and MSc students who
were doing their final year dissertation projects, so communicating scientific ideas became routine
in module tutorials and class based seminars. This improved my confidence to show initiative in group activities as well as individual presentations.
Teamwork: I can work effectively both individually or as part of a team to achieve a common goal. I
am comfortable at providing and receiving instruction as well as taking note of opinions of other
team members. This skill has been developed to a great extent during my time in industry and my
PhD, when at the start I was receiving guidance from my thesis supervisors/line manager, and then with experience, when I started delegating tasks to colleagues.
Time Management: I have successfully undertaken various projects within both academic and
non-academic environments which have all required competent time management. I have also
acquired the ability to identify and prioritise tasks logically to successfully complete projects. A good
example of this would be during my PhD where I had 4 years to collaborate with industry (Unilever) to initiate and coordinate a project with the aim to become an independent researcher, publish a
thesis, and obtain a PhD.
