I have previously been responsible for the European Marketing team at global IT manufacturer, Allied Telesis where I was Marketing Director. I also worked as European Events Manager and European Channel Marketing Specialist for Symantec, a global software company. I have worked as a Freelance Marketing Consultant for a number of businesses and also as Managing Partner of Design Eclectic, a design and marketing agency based near Newbury, Berkshire providing a range of graphic design, website design and marketing services.
Currently, alongside my role within Design Eclectic I work as a freelance marketing consultant specialising in SMEs. I do this because marketing is my passion so being able to get really stuck in at a business and to make a difference by delivering real, tangible results is what drives me. For various reasons those opportunities aren't always possible through Design Eclectic but I am in the incredibly fortunate position nowadays to be able to do both thanks to the great team I have built there. I only ever accept one freelance marketing consultant contract at a time to ensure I can devote the necessary time and attention to that client and also to my Design Eclectic responsibilities. I typically work 2 days a week for a freelance marketing contract but I'm able to work more than that if required and I'm also able to be very flexible to accomodate specific requirements such as events.
My key strength is with SMEs who don't have an internal marketing resource, working alongside the senior management team until they are ready to employ a dedicated in-house resource. I normally conduct a full marketing audit with accompanying recommendations from which I then produce a marketing plan. Once that's agreed and budget is approved I'll literally roll up my sleeves and make it happen, requiring minimal supervision and removing the stress and burden for you so you can concentrate on running your business. I provide regular reports on activity/results and I'm happy to work on site and remotely.
