100 Years Since The Russian Revolution 1917-2017 A century after the revolution.
My Russia A Hundred Years After the Revolution. On Nov. 7, 2017, Russia marked the centenary of the 1917 October Revolution. On Nov. 7 1917 the Bolsheviks seized power, readers across Russia invited to capture a moment in their life on Nov. 7 2017 in a photograph, drawing or diary submission.
Far from the days of Bolshevik uprising and Lenin’s formation of a new Soviet government, today's Russia presents a strikingly different picture, with a changing story still being written and told by the people of Russia.
Capture your day on Nov. 7 — a century after the revolution.

By Charles.S.Smith CEO of the Royal Academy of Arts

Jacob Sutton has an extraordinarily quick and fluent way of drawing and enjoys the challenge of capturing the character of people in a single sitting, trying to convey not just what they look like but who they
are. Thanks to the organisers of two major literary festivals, both
of which attract large numbers of key British speakers, he has had
good access to a wide range of prominent writers and thinkers, whom he has related to previous drawings he has done of Shakespeare. So here we have quick sketches of many of our best known public intellectuals, including Jonathan Bate, who has done so much to interpret Shakespeare to new audiences, and Anthony Grayling, one of our best known philosophers, Stephen Fry looking as ever eternally gloomy, and Claire Tomalin in the year in which she published her magisterial study of Charles Dickens. What the volume conveys is the way in which writers now enjoy a much more public presence through their performance at festivals, talking directly to their audiences rather than just
working through the medium of print. The spoken language is, once again, becoming as important as the written. Alongside the
development of online experience through such media as YouTube, there is a hunger for a direct relationship with writers and artists, who
move around the country like traveling players. Jake Sutton vividly communicates the way in which we live in a new Shakespearean age.
