Business Analyst
unknown.
I am currently working as a Senior Business Analyst, on a contract basis, for EE in Bristol. I'm currently working on a number of projects:
• One of projects I'm working on is looking at operational efficiencies related to the SIM Packaging supply chain processes. I created a high-level feasibility document in conjunction with the solutions architect. I also mapped out the "As Is" and "To Be" business processes and I worked closely with key stakeholders across the business to define a set of Functional and Non-functional requirements in the form of a BRS document.
• I am also working on the high-level feasibility and requirements for Partner Billing enhancements associated with the "Charge to Bill" Credit and Refund API functionality. I am in the process of creating the BRS document working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business - but also with the solutions architect and technical teams to ensure feasibility of the requirements/conduct compliance checks against the TAD document and test plans.
I previously worked on a major programme of work to migrate all of EE's core applications from T-systems to the BT Data Centres (Approximately 100 applications). As part of the work I conducted the high-level analysis for each project; which involved the creation of an Ideas Feasibility Document (IFD) which outlines the scope, key stakeholders, dependencies, risks, issues and also includes high-level technical solution proposal provided by the solutions architect. This involves working with a wide variety of stakeholders right across the business and also externally with 3rd party vendors. In addition, I'm also created a Business Requirement Specification (BRS) for each project based on input from the design authority, capacity management, support users, security teams etc. I'm also working closely with the solutions architect to ensure compliance of the BRS with the Technical Architecture document and with the test teams to ensure compliance with the business requirements.

Business Analyst
ONS.
I worked as a lead Business Analyst within the Next Generation IT programme and supported a number of projects as follows:
• Lotus Notes to SharePoint Migration. I'm currently in the process of analysing a large number of Corporate Critical and Business Critical Lotus Notes applications that need to be migrated to a new solution. I'm liaising with a large number of stakeholders at all levels within the organisation - including senior management. I'm then creating requirement artefact for each in the form of User Stories, State Transition Diagrams, Process Maps etc to capture the requirements - and working with the team of SharePoint developers to build the new applications in AGILE sprints.
• New Contact Centre Solution - I worked on the requirement for new Contact Centre solution for a number of Contact Centres within the ONS. This involves working closely with the key Stakeholders across the different Call Centres to align their requirements into a consolidated requirement set. We are also working closely with procurement and conducted a number of compliance reviews against a number of 3rd party solutions - to establish the best option.
• Unified Comms - In addition I also worked on the requirements for the replacement of the current IP Desk Phones with a new Unified Communications product. This involved dealing with a wide selection of stakeholders within the ONS and reviewing the current capabilities to create a consolidate set of requirements. I worked closely with the procurement team and liaised with 3rd part suppliers to facilitate the procurement of the new solution.

Business Analyst
Vodafone.
I worked as a Business Analyst, on a contract basis, for Vodafone in Newbury. I worked on a number of different projects as follows:
• I conducted the High-Level Business Analysis for a number of projects within the Machine to Machine (M2M) area. This involved taking each project from "concept" stage; clarifying the scope, goals and liaising with the key stakeholders around the globe to define the high-level requirements; and often creating Use Cases where appropriate. I operated as a Business Analyst within Product Management; and as such worked closely with the Product Managers and also Solutions Architects.
• I worked as the Lead Business analyst on a Global Unified Comms programme (One Net). The programme related to a set of enhancements to the initial release of the One Net product which is based on the Broadsoft platform. I worked for Vodafone Group which required liaison with each of the affected the Vodafone Operating Companies (Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, South Africa and New Zealand) in order to define the scope out the programme of work and also to capture the more detailed requirements associated with each of the 20 or so projects within the programme. I also worked closely with the Solutions Architects team to ensure the feasibility of the requirements and which also helped inform the requirements based on different product features available on the market.
• I conducted the high-level business analysis for NI&S - Phase 2 related to the introduction of Web and Email security as part of an existing network-based product. I clarified the project scope; the overall objectives and identified and liaised with the key stakeholders within the organisation. In addition, I worked to elicit the high-level Business Requirements for the project.
• I worked on the high-level business analysis for an upgrade to a Spend Analytics Platform which takes billing information supplied by various Carriers; processes the data and distributes it to a number of downstream applications. The analysis focussed on scope definition; identification and liaison with key stakeholders within the organisation (from the Business side by also on the Technical side); and then the creation of the high-level business requirements. This included creating a set of High Level Functional and Non-functional requirements and also the creation of a set of Use Cases.

Business Analyst
The Mileage Company.
(Formerly Air Miles) - London Gatwick
I worked as an e-Commerce Business Analyst on a contract basis for The Mileage Company on their "2020 project" - a programme of work to put in place loyalty card redemption solutions to support International Airlines Group (currently British Airways and Iberia). I worked on the Non-Air Rewards project to implement an e-Commerce website to sell Hotel and Car Hire products to BA Executive Club and Iberia Plus members. I was responsible for liaising with the key business stakeholders (based in London Gatwick, Heathrow, Newcastle and Manchester) and the ezRez development team based in San Francisco. I was responsible for creating the high-level scope document and following on from this I was also responsible for creating a requirements repository based on User Stories which were then implemented within AGILE sprints. I was responsible for facilitating workshops and conference calls with the various teams within the organisations. The stakeholder management was very challenging due to the size and complexity of the organisations involved i.e. BA, TMC, Iberia, ezRez, AVIS etc. I was also responsible ensuring that the Payment Gateway Portal implementation met the business requirements which involved liaison between Cybersource as the payment gateway provider and Lloyds Banking Group as the banking provider.

Business Analyst
Ordnance Survey.
I worked as a Business Analyst on a contract basis for Ordnance Survey, Britain's national mapping agency. I worked on a number of different projects as follows:
• I worked on AGILE projects; one of which was to develop a new Ordnance Survey product (OS Vector Map District). I created a series of User Stories to define the requirements of the product (Product backlog) and the product was built up overtime by implementing User Stories within 2-week sprints. I conducted estimation workshops to capture an estimate of "size" of each of the User Stories and charted progress over time by creating a burn down chart to show progress against the full backlog. I also completed formal AGILE training.
• I worked on the high-level business analysis for many other projects of varying size. Generally, I created a scope, goals and stakeholder documents and also created high level business requirements, which often included "AS IS" and "TO BE" business processes or Use Cases as appropriate. I worked closely with the business stakeholders but also worked closely with Solution Architects, Developers and Testers to ensure any proposed solutions met the business requirements. As part of this I conducted many workshops and 1-2-1 interviews with key stakeholders to elicit the Business Requirements and built up and maintained good relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
• I worked as a lead analyst on a major programme of work to refresh Ordnance Survey's Data Capture and Maintenance systems to create a single repository for all surveyed information. As part of this I defined a Use Case model and also helped capture the detailed set of Functional and Non-Functional requirements. The requirements were used as part of Multimillion-pound procurement exercise, which I was heavily involved with. I also created additional UML artefacts such as state transition diagrams and sequence diagrams, which supported the Use Cases, and which were derived in close collaboration with the business. I used rational requisite pro to manage the requirements catalogue. I used MS Visio to create the UML artefacts such as Use Case Diagrams.

Business Analyst
NTL.
I worked as a Business Analyst on a permanent basis for NTL, the UK's largest Cable TV operator. NTL provides customers with Cable TV, Internet and Telephony Services. The business analysis focused on the Billing, Provisioning, Sales Order Entry and CRM systems. Use Cases were used extensively to capture and document user requirements. I was responsible for facilitating customer workshops and capturing customer requirements. This was a client-facing role, where the customers were from the various areas internal to the business. I also created numerous functional specifications which were signed off by the business, and which were also used by architects and developers as the basis for their high-level designs. UML was used extensively, for realisation of the use cases i.e. Activity or Sequence Diagrams. Rational Requisite Pro was used for managing the user requirements. Where possible, an iterative approach was used for the development of documentation, though the sign off of deliverables necessitated that the documents were baselined at key project milestones.

The changes were also prototyped in order to ensure that the key stakeholders were happy with the proposals prior to development and I was also involved with user acceptance testing of the changes with the business. Rational Clear Quest was used in order to raise and manage change requests against the system. Working in a team of eight or so people, the project lasted almost 12 months and we successfully completed a series of key enhancements to the system
