I am an experimental visual artist exploring important issues within feminism and youth culture and expressing these in the form of Graphic and Photographic content. I have focused a great amount of my creative work on exploring reactions to the ‘Male Gaze’ within creative industries. In the past year I have researched how ideals of the ‘Female Gaze’ are represented in modern media. This research led me to discover movements which have created the support that women share today, to present their skills and talent. The Riot Grrrl Movement was an massively influential part of my research which empowered and led me to create a feminist zine based on the rebellious movement that was consistent throughout the late 1990s. While creating Hot Blush Zine I met with many wonderful creatives which encouraged me to gain confidence in my personal work. I enjoyed creating such a powerful publication and wish to expand my zine when creating future issues.
