Profile / Summary:
An experienced and industry adaptable Product Management leader, expert in providing the clarity and focus
required to lead business and development teams to deliver on product vision and strategy. Key strengths include:
identifying and managing stakeholders at all levels, building trust and a common understanding of objectives and
roadmap; facilitating requirements elicitation workshops with confidence to identify true product/system needs and
communicate business drivers; effectively negotiating backlog items based on market/user priority to ensure delivery
of minimum viable product (MVP) with minimal scope creep; and extensive hands on experience of delivering large,
complex, enterprise level solutions in challenging and evolving environments.
Career Highlights:
* Shop Direct wanted to expand upon their financial products range by offering fixed term loans and revolving credit
facilities via the build of a bespoke end-to-end SaaS based 'Credit as a Platform' solution. As the Product
Delivery Manager - Technology, I identified the needed platform capabilities and components to deliver the
market offerings. I worked with CEO and multiple workstreams to align the programme to work in a 'customer
first' approach, whilst ensuring the technical roadmap aligned with the strategic objectives. Secured a technical
build budget of c.£22m.
* Asda Walmart initiated replacement of its online grocery product information management system (c.50,000
product listings) but the project was failing. Engaged as Product Manager to re-establish direction and deliver
migration. Created product backlog and confluence documentation; removed development blockers; analysed,
documented and refined current operating/system processes; provided support for product release; and resolved
issues. The MVP was released with minimal delay and trust restored with business/development teams.
* Flashtalking initiated a rewrite of Creative Manager product. As Product Owner created clear vision and gained
agreement for Agile, iterative delivery. Worked with users/stakeholders to identify MVP; defined themes, epic and
story backlog; led Scrum team to develop solution; carried out user testing/analysis; and developed fit for purpose
product that could be continuously released. Launched product to multiple international locations and embedded
project management best practice and Agile methods into product/development teams.
* http://*****.** wanted to link their individual products to form one Enterprise Resource Planning SaaS
application. As Product Manager, developed the linking middleware. Defined product vision; created
documentation based on user needs, features and benefits to be realised; worked with CTO and chief technical
architect to shortlist and select technical solution; identified and prioritised initial product integration set; and
created story backlog of stories for development team. Delivered MVP which was building block for multiple
product integrations
