During this period I held a series of positions with increasing responsibilities. For the last five years I was in charge of multi site store development, with full responsibility for the departments P&L and "hands on" management and training of a multi-disciplined team providing a comprehensive range of services including store refit developments and improvements, minor works, office fit-outs, property maintenance, services and supplier procurement. Areas of responsibility can be broken down as follows:
Store Development
• Management and financial control of the Capital Budget in relation to the Owned Store refit programme
• Management and full financial control of leasing and co-investment in relation to Independent Retail Franchise Partners refurbishment projects
• Responsible for and involved in all aspects of programme and project management, from inception to completion, to an agreed specification, programme and strict budget
• Ensuring compliance with all corporate specifications, operating standards, procedures, processes and best practices and working with the enforcing authority where they have been contravened
• Responsible for statutory compliance in respect of construction work covering Health & Safety, Asbestos Management, CDM, DDA, Fire Risk assessments, F-Gas Regulations, Building Regulations as well as advising Independent Retail Partners on their legal and statutory obligations
Maintenance
• Management of the maintenance budget of the property portfolio made up of 120 stores and 20 flats.
• Surveying, specifying, tendering, appointing contractors in relation to major repair items and dilapidations
• Procuring and managing the planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance of all of the refrigeration and A/C in the company stores, using KPI's to ensure service levels were met.
• Ensuring statutory compliance of flats
