I'm offering
A highly motivated Full Stack Developer with a high level of experience in the .Net framework and I have a keen interest in technology and business. I have experience in cross platform mobile application development and very interested in the rise of cloud computing. My interest in this area runs outside of my day to day job, where I sub-contract to companies to improve my skills. I have a wide ranging technical knowledge, am very competent and a fast learner, and I work hard to achieve high professional standards. I enjoy seeing projects through from start to finish, and work very well as part of a team, as well as on my own initiative when needed. I am able to communicate very complex details easily and the nature of my work means I have to be very organized.

2015 - 2016
job
Software Engineer
Earthware Ltd.
Earthware are a software house who employ about 15 developers. They do 50% of their own products and 50% development for clients. They focus on shorter projects 2-4 months long but have some up to a year. I have worked on a range of responsive websites using a variety of Javascript frameworks including Durandal, Aurelia and angular. We use NancyFx a lot for the server side code and host all most all of our in house websites, WebJob's and databases on Azure. We used a few different CMS solutions but mainly Umbraco. I have also worked on phone apps written in Xamarin for IOS, Android and Windows Phone as well as standard desktop apps in C#. At Earthware we manage our projects using SCRUM, working in two week sprints, although this can vary slightly on different projects (Kanban for example). We typically work on projects in teams of 4 or 5 developers with an in house tester as well. The most important skills I have learnt in this role are responsive web front end development as well as gaining experience and learning 5 new javascript frameworks.

2014 - 2015
job
Software Engineer
Scribestar.
Scribestar are a new start-up and were still in "stealth" when I left. We are developing a SAAS document management and collation application. Scribestar's development team has a strong emphasis on TDD and agile methodologies. The software is a split between Javascript for the client and .Net, MVC 5 with Razor views. We use a combination of Sql server, RavenDb and Neo 4j for databases. This was the biggest team I had worked in at one at 20 devs working on the same project at once. We were using continuous integration with git and story points for estimating our user stories. We were working in a very loose agile way as the business was young and was going through constant funding rounds which made hitting deadlines extremely important and the work had to be done on time.
We often had at least once a week meetings where the dev team all gathered just to share technical knowledge. I enjoyed working with the people at Scribestar so much and loved that we had enough developers for a football match once a week and the CEO often joined us.

job
Windows Developer
Metail.
Metail is a fairly new start-up company (only 3 years old) with about 40 employees, half of which are technical. My role as part of the "Line of Business" team was to create and maintain our internal and customer facing software tools needed for the business to function. Working as part of a small team of three (1 Clojure and 2 windows developers).
From day one I found the importance and responsibility of the job so exciting with everyone piece of work crucial to the success and future of the company. I was working directly with and code reviewing the work of the other windows developer (Cambridge PHD) and lead of the team. We manage our projects using SCRUM, using code reviews, MVVM and TDD. I learnt so much from this position and feel I have progressed so much since I first qualified.
One of the best things about this job was that we were getting constant deadlines as we were taking on new customers and partners. The CEO claimed that between the photographers and me and my lead we had created the fastest clothes photography platform in the world which when I joined at a company meeting was highlighted as one of the road blocks to new customers. I also had a role in redesigning and implementing all of the backend data for the company as it was now legacy from when the company first started and needed to be extended to support the expansion of the business.
