job
Electro Mechanical design eng
Collins Aerospace.
Started as EDS Design Engineer More Mechanical biased since 2014 on Air Bus A350 Galley's
Doing all cable rooting for multiple galleys on A350 program using Catia V5 R18. Having to design cabin Zero
And then taking the base design making all changes for the 150 % design for production and all catalogue variants. Design of all relevant Brackets, Grommets, and some composite changes required to achieve the final production design. Have been doing explosive panels design in composite more recently along with EDS support. The last couple of years been involved in JCR's (Customer Specific changes) this has involved design and development of end customers wants, Example the installation of toasters in galleys. This involved the full concept of sliding draws, fire containment and electrical installation with auto isolation of the toasters when having to be stowed for takeoff and landing, and turbulence even if still in operation. Full costing of converting C/B panel to a moulded part saving approx $7500 per ship set and a weight down of 3.55kg. These are just a few examples of my JCR work. More Electro Mechanical rather than Electrical on this team.

Design Engineer
Tesla Motors UK. Norwich.
After making the decision to return to the UK due to my mothers failing health I have worked as Design Engineer for the Chassis team on a very interesting project for Tesla Motors Developing the first ever electric sports car with a range of 250 miles per charge / top speed of 135mph and a 0-60 time of 4 seconds. As a senior member of the team I have been involved all aspects of the under body concept design. HVAC and battery cooling system, wiring 400v and 12v a large amount of packaging design especially as the car is loosely based around the Lotus Elise chassis this has been very demanding along with gear box and motor mounting and many other subsystems. This has been a very varied job as the team of designers has been limited to 10 in the UK looking after all the body and mechanical structures. Catia V4/V5
