I, Anna Marie Christmas, have worked in the fashion, retail and creative agency industries for over sixteen years in New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Florida and London. One of my greatest passions is creating art in various mediums, such as fashion design, the fine arts and creative leadership for global brands, marketing, special events and peoples within our artistic world.
Another focus of mine is creating value and quantifiable results for businesses by connecting brands and people to one another through building authentic and intentional relationships on a global level. I am passionate, prepared, knowledgable and determined to manage and develop the resources, talent and products of any brand that I choose to step into.
With the combination of high budget, P&L, balance sheet and sales management along with creative direction, visual merchandising, digital and social marketing across multiple channels, I would say that I have multi-functional experience and innate knowledge of the creative and analytical world of retail. However, the main mission that gets me out of bed in the morning and passionate to go to work is the development of people. I believe a brand is only as good as its people, how they are being lead and the culture that is created for them.
After many trails and triumphs through out my career, I have come to an enlightened understanding of my strengths and abilities. They include but are not limited to the following list of such talents and characteristics.
1. Servant Leadership: Servant leadership means that you are willing to die to your ego so that you can meet your people where they are in their roles, development and behavior. I will do what it takes to do this well. In turn, I will gain a team, department and company that trusts, respects and believes in the vision of the company as a whole.
2. Emotional Intelligence: Emotional intelligence is the awareness of one's own emotions and moods and those of others. The gift of emotional intelligence allows me to hire, manage and development
people on a personal and professional level. It also provides me the ability to form authentic relationships with many different demographics of people and brands. I have spent my life building community and partnerships amongst the relationships I have formed.
3. Visionary: This is one of my top two gifts by far. I see, feel, smell and somehow know what's next. It may be two weeks, two years or twenty years down the road but somehow I know trends of markets, consumerism, the creative arts and people in general. I also can identify the potential in, quite literally, everything around me. It could be a corner of a room, a plate of food, an individual, a cafe, a book cover, an ad campaign or a Fortune 500 company. I am also able to communicate, direct and manage that vision into it fullest form by hiring the right people who are experts in their field and employ them to the vision and work at hand.
4. Creativity: I have an artistic eye that assesses visuals and atmospheres. I am adamant on the way things should look and be experienced. I am capable of doing what you can with what you have, which is invaluable in any capacity. The term “scrappy” is the best suited for elaboration.
As stated above, my ability to build relationships with people and brand awareness through marketing and creative direction is something I have been doing the entirety of my career. I am certain that if I was given this responsibility to lead a company in developing and engaging its consumers and leaders, I will be able to pave new roads and momentum of the mission and agenda of that brand. I deeply believe in the art of hospitality, gratitude and authenticity. These values will allow us to grow the vision of any company I step into.
I am currently looking to align myself with like minded companies that are passionate about excellence in all things, innovative change and building a culture for its people.
