News UK is one of the leading media companies in the UK running national newspapers (The Times and The Sun) and national radio stations (talkSPORT, talkRADIO and Virgin)
My role, within the Wireless division, was to develop a new mobile app for talkSPORT with a new audio platform that will be utilised across the business. Working closely with multiple stakeholders this was delivered in a very tight timescale working with a new internal app platform (Reel).
Key targets in the development were listening hours and revenue, meaning a close focus on the UX and ease of user journey and the integration of a new audio ad platform utilising customer data as effectively as possible. This meant integrating ad servers, a DMP and SSP and ensuring the audio experience to the user remained consistent across platforms.

The strategy was developed to integrate the latest UX knowledge and utilize leading edge ad tech products (geo targeting, data utilization and native ad formats). An additional imperative was to integrate closely into the group CRM strategy.
After the release of the apps the usage increased by 40% and revenue by 180%
