Commercial Manager for the Scotland

My main tasks when I started was to put together a commercial department that was conducive to working in the UK as Powerlines Group is an Austrian based business. This entailed starting from scratch and putting together and developing commercial systems to comply with the UK regulated system. It included the formation of new CVR reporting systems, invoice/payment trackers, minor project trackers, valuation application systems, allocation and measurement sheets for site operations we also had to put in place the early warning and CE systems and methods of recording and presenting variations. I manage all the commercial matters on core projects I am allocated to and prepare and put together all the commercial/operational reports and report to the UK board of directors on a monthly basis. I am the commercial lead on various OHLE projects with values ranging from £350k to £17million. Dealing with day to day commercial and contractual issues on all projects, produce CVR's reports with the PM/ Site QS and present information to the board. Prepared and submitted Change request/Early warning/CEs and valuing and agreeing with clients QS and Network rail where they are the direct client. I work closely with the Construction teams input and updates and also on the client requests and changes and insure full recovery of all cost associated.

General commercial tasks include measuring and valuing all projects, carrying out monthly P&L reports, tendering and appointing all sub-contractors and measure and value subcontractors accounts.

Pre-contract tasks including taking off quantities from design drawings, compiling bills of quantity, preparing tender packages, issuing and taking tenders to award stages.
Cost Management during the currency of the projects by remeasurement on site liaising with the client, actively acting in tandem with the client's design to monitor and reduce costs.
Carry out interim valuations and remeasurements with the contractor, issue and certify interim payments. Carry out value engineering exercises and using my experience of previous projects put forward proposals for costs savings.
