The Visualiser app for AkzoNobel is an award-winning AR app designed to solve a real user need of choosing a colour to paint their home. I have been working on this app since the initial concepts
and have seen it through to completion with involvement in every aspect of research, ideation,
design and implementation. It has been featured as one of the best home decorating apps in the app store and has more than 20 million downloads with an average rating of 4.5 stars
• Initial user research and sketching sessions to translate real user needs into ideas.
• Produced sketched concepts, user journeys, wireframes & prototypes reflecting user needs
• User research in multiple markets including UK, India, China, France and Netherlands.
Traveled to conduct user testing in key markets (e..g Netherlands, India) and managed local
agencies in remote markets to feed all user findings directly into the app.
• Conducted workshops with stakeholders and client for requirements gathering. Worked
closely with the client team throughout the whole design and development process to present
UX strategy and ideas.
• Worked closely with client team, project managers, developers, computer vision engineers
and lead designer as part of an agile team, using Jira to create stories and track changes.
• Planned, moderated and produced findings for over 40 iterative user testing cycles feeding
results directly into the design process and rapidly iterating prototypes.
• Hands-on design work with sketching, wireframing in Sketch, prototyping using Proto.io,
Sketch and Invision, graphic asset production and localization.
• Google sprint workshops with partner design teams in Netherlands to create the next vision of mobile offerings for AkzoNobel
• The Visualiser app is currently live in 43 markets Android and iOS, the Professional app is
currently live in seven markets with more markets rolling out each week.

hosting, android development, workshop facilitation and everything in-between.
As part of the Open Education Challenge incubator we held week-long workshops in Helsinki, Berlin,
Paris and London to learn about Lean Start-Up and investment and learn from our high-profile
mentors about all aspects of starting and growing a successful ed-tech start-up. We facilitated the
innovation sessions which kicked off UX workshops in Helsinki and were offered investment from 3 of the bidders in the final pitch presentations.
Opened the MEX conference in 2015 with a facilitation of our Design Thinking workshop, this was
seen as the highlight of the conference.

wireless growth. Qualcomm Cambridge's research interests were broad and covered user
experience, gestures, Internet of Things and context-aware computing.
USER RESEARCH
Involved learning from real users to drive future technologies. One example was an Augmented
Reality (AR) Research study which fed into Qualcomm's successful Vuforia platform, used by over
75,000 developers in over 6,000 apps in 130 countries.
• Conducted a six-month user study into AR interaction techniques and how they might be
employed in real-world applications
• Developed concepts and prototypes to explore different interaction techniques
• Conducted numerous lab and real-world studies based in various locations and situations
• Arranged pop-up testing and café testing to compliment and expand upon lab -testing
capabilities
• Published a paper based on the findings of the study
• Delivered a talk at the MEX user experience conference based on some of the study insights

INTERACTION DESIGN
The role of interaction designer involved collaboration with numerous mobile operators such as O2,
Telefonica, Verizon and H3G (Hutchison 3G). Played a key role in inventing and designing a
recommendation platform later deployed commercially by Vodafone.
USER TESTING
Drove the culture of user testing and real-world user research in the Cambridge office, initially as the sole researcher planning and running studies in the state-of-the-art lab. The growing UX team helped
define Qualcomm Cambridge as a center for excellence in the field of User Experience and the transition to being a dedicated research office.
INNOVATION AND FACILITATION
Planned and facilitated numerous idea workshops in Cambridge, Europe and America
