I’m a meticulous and detail-driven web-QA-tester-turned-UX-Designer who, like many of the UX designers who’ve been around a while, has been doing the whole “UX thing” since before I’d ever even heard the term “UX”. To the table, I bring 19 years of unofficial UX and design experience as well as the 25 years of expert Photoshop experience which I’ve somehow managed to slip under my belt through both creative and web design. I’ve also picked up a few intermediate web development skills along the way.
My background is in photography, customer service, support, and testing. My time in customer service and managing support put me on the frontline of the user experience and has made me more empathetic towards the humans on the receiving end of products and services. Photography and design have given me a keen eye for detail and my time in QA Testing has given me an immense appreciation for the user research aspect of UX and a desire to help prevent usability issues early on in the project life cycle. And, because efficiency is important to me, “streamlining and optimising processes” has played a big role in the work I’ve done over the years.
