I hold a foundation degree in Communications Systems Engineering which covered networking, server administration and project management. I am registered with the British Computer Society as an RITTECH, specialising in Infrastructure Support.
I’m currently training to become a Certified Azure Administrator with a view to working in a DevOps environment in the future.

Communications Systems Engineer

Role Summary: As a Communications Systems Engineer my role is to deliver robust and reliable communications systems to headquarters within a high pressure, fast paced deployed environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the preparation and maintenance of communications detachments to a high standard ready for deployment. In accordance with unit or corps policies.
• Report the status of communications detachments to the chain of command.
• Manage the setup, commissioning and maintenance of communications links and detachments via satellite, radio and fixed infrastructure during deployments.
• Assist in the management of the network equipment room in deployed environments and manage a shift comprising of 8-10 Royal Signals soldiers.
• Diagnose hardware and software faults using approved tools and processes both in barracks and in deployed environments.
• Act as the second line engineer in a deployed environment, conducting repair actions that cannot be resolved at first line.
• Manage a service desk in deployed environments, processing faults and change requests in line with unit policies and ITIL processes.
• Conduct regular training sessions for subordinates to allow them to progress within their careers.
Key Achievements:
• Promoted to Lance Corporal April 2014.
• Selected to represent 2 Signal Regiment in cyber exercises hosted by the Royal Signals.
• Promoted to Corporal September 2017.
