I'm offering
I have a 9-5 role, but I am free for hire for evenings and weekends. Do not be put off by this, I can deliver to a great standard, with tight time pressures. My current portfolio doesn't have my latest projects on. I can send these if needed.
I am an ambitious digital professional that spends every day thinking
about how I can design, build and pull apart digital products.
I started my career in front-end development, building responsive
websites, which led into a strategic UX consultant role that took
me from a maker into a designer and consultant, responsible for
evangelising the UCD approach along with strategy, research and
UX design.
I have enough of an understanding around tech, design, strategy
and business processes to design & consult for a wide range of
challenges and have done so for clients in the not-for-profit, financial,
telecoms, social media, gaming(betting), healthcare, pharmaceutical
and e-commerce industries.
9am - 5pm I am currently helping disrupt the home services industry by leading the UX at BOXT http://********.***), an innovative home services company.
I have great experience across lots of industries, as well as working product side, and agency side.
I am currently furthering my knowledge of the technical side, having built a full stack side project using http://********.*** Check it out at http://********.***

job
UX Architect
Head London.
A UX Architect at Head is no mere wireframe production line. We are
consultants, designers, researchers and strategists.
The key responsibilities of my role are helping lead the team and the client on the overall project vision, guiding them through how the product or service we
are designing now fits in with the client's overall digital strategy.
We are as much a digital consultant and client partner as we are UX specialist,
meaning we actively participate in the new business process, run kick-off
workshops, help gather requirements, as well as leading sprint reviews and running workshops.
I would carry out the whole project lifecycle, immersing myself and the team
into the project; carrying out initial backlog planning, identifying any research or spikes that need to happen, right through to sketching, working with UI
designers and developers to design and build the product, guerrilla testing as
we go or formal user testing within sprints.
Skills and responsibilities:
- Being the client lead within the team and the main point of contact alongside
the Client Partner in making sure clients are happy
- Leading sprint reviews and other stakeholder meetings
- Running workshops with client stakeholders
- Running interviews and co-design sessions with participants
- Sketching and prototyping
- Working with UI designers and developers
- Testing assumptions and designs via guerrilla, remote and scheduled testing
- Carrying out innovative new ways of research to fit within the agile process,
e.g. the Field Studio technique
- Knowledge sharing with the rest of the business via talks
- Mentoring interns and junior members of the team
- Championing innovation and using new technologies
- Startup mentality

2013 - 2015
job
UX Developer & Architect
Reading Room.
I worked closely with clients and 3rd-party teams to deliver digital products in line with their requirements and the needs of their users, and assisted in defining the strategy for digital transformation.
I conducted discovery phases to determine user needs, designed user interview scripts and carried out the interviews, as well as defining audience segmentation with personas, and user journeys through user stories/scenarios. I then used the personas and user stories to produce rapid prototypes through paper prototyping, wireframes and hi-fi interaction design. I validated prototypes and wireframes using the Lean UX “test-learn-iterate” approach to produce an end solution that meets both the businesses needs and the customers/users'.
Skills and job responsibilities:
- Client relationship management and working with multiple third-parties to cohesively deliver to scope.
- Requirements gathering and researching user needs
- Running workshops and focus groups
- Defining audience segmentation and user stories
- Designing information architectures and testing them
- Consulting on business change as a result of iterative development
- Rapid prototyping using business requirements and user feedback
- Agile and Lean UX methodology
- Usability and heuristic testing to iteratively test design decisions
- Overall digital strategy
- Digital service design
- New Biz proposals and bid work
Clients: BMI Healthcare, Nationwide Building Society, City & Guilds, Arts Council
