My main skills include Java within Apache Tomcat, developing and maintaining RESTFul APIs and also developing iOS applications in Swift and Objective C.
I also have experience with leading a team, and being a lead developer on a number of projects. This has allowed me to perfect my skills at gathering the initial requirements, performing analysis and proposing the technical solution, whilst also working to deliver that solution.
I am a very hard working individual and enjoy seeing projects through to completion.

Working as a Java ​Developer, I am ​responsible for implementing new features and maintaining the backend service that is used to serve event/market information and take bets from players. As these are highly critical services, I ensure that any code written must be performant and work within a multithreaded environment. To ensure no regressions have been made, we are using a TDD methodology, meaning we start by defining the tests before writing any code, and then see our tests pass.
Alongside development, I am responsible for designing and maintaining the REST APIs that each front end interact with. This includes analysing the functional requirements of each change, proposing the best approach to expose this information and develop the solution in a performant way.
I am working as Lead Developer on the current project, which is using an agile approach. My role involves putting together technical specifications to identify the changes to be made, splitting them into epics & user stories; and taking part in sprint ceremonies to refine the backlog and plan the next sprint, as well as development.
I also regularly spend time reviewing pull requests made by each member of the team and have been made a super user to ensure that code standards are being met, as well as pointing out any improvements / potential issues.
