Online Writer
New Star Media.
I am responsible for developing and implementing the content marketing strategy for 18 clients, predominantly within the automotive industry. Working alongside a technical SEO specialist, I write keyword-rich copy to increase the number of organic visitors to each client's website and drive conversions.
As well as generating new content ideas, I've found that repurposing, rewriting and optimising existing content often provides more rewarding results. Using Google Analytics and Google Search Console, I can identify pages and posts that are underperforming in terms of users, sessions and clickthrough rate.
By performing keyword and competitor research alongside SERP analysis, the content can be written in a targeted and structured way. The page is then able to rank for its main keyword and a range of similar longtail keyword phrases to help drive additional clicks.
Every month, each client receives an SEO report. Taking this data, I write a summary that clearly explains how their website is performing, what actions were taken last month and what will be done during the current month.

job
SEO Copywriter
Wilsons Automobiles & Coachworks.
My main task was to create and upload SEO optimised content for the company's three websites. Using keyword research, each page targeted relevant words and longtail phrases in the meta data, H1 tags, copy and alt tags to organically rank highly.
During my time in this role, I refreshed the content and design of key sections of the website including Service, Finance, New Car Offers and New Car Pages. The success of my work meant that the company was been able to reduce its PPC spend by around 75%.
From March 2017 - September 2017 I oversaw a complete redesign of the company's three websites from research and initial brief to amending the design and testing its functionality when it went live. I was the main point of contact at Wilsons throughout this project liaising with the internal stakeholders and the design agency.
I also assumed responsibility of the company's social media channels managing its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. The following of these pages all increased, most notably Facebook, which nearly doubled from around 700 Likes initially. I worked with key stakeholders across the business, including Directors, to create paid campaigns on Facebook which successfully generated new leads.
Other duties included writing content for the company blog as well as email marketing campaigns, direct mail campaigns, SMS marketing and printed marketing materials. I was also responsible for optimising the company's AutoTrader listings with headlines and key information to make each advert more attractive and stand out from the competition.

2013 - 2016
job
Digital Content Writer
The Knowledge Academy.
Having initially joined the company as a data analyst, I then moved positions in April 2015 to become a Digital Content Writer. As a data analyst I collated and maintained the details of the vast number of trainers used by the company to run their training courses around the world. I used this information to strategically allocate trainers to ensure that all the scheduled events ran and that profits were maximised.
As a Digital Content Writer, I had a range of tasks including writing optimised SEO content for the company blog, writing classroom-based training courseware, proofreading other's content and writing module objectives and lesson plans for the company's apprentices. I took on considerable responsibility within this team by running daily morning meetings and being the team's onsite point of contact for Managers and Directors in the business.
My final project was to convert the company's classroom-based content into elearning. This involved researching the specific course to gain an understanding of it, followed by creating modules to break the course down for learners. The course content was then scripted and simultaneously developed using Articulate Storyline.

job
Sales Assistant
Sports Direct.
I initially attained this job while studying at university. I began on the shop floor assisting customers and processing the daily deliveries. I was quickly identified to be cross-trained. I learnt the process of the shoe department and how to use the electronic tills. I was then later taught how to refund customers which only managers and selected staff were able to do. I was adaptable to any department that I was required on.
Working in retail taught me exceptional customer service skills; working under pressure and in busy periods such as bank holidays or Christmas; working in a large team towards a common goal; working towards a deadline and the importance or working as an individual.
