I'm offering
I am a quantum engineer, experienced in physically building systems which harness the effects of quantum mechanics. I am specialised in the delivery of laser light to individual atoms, and scaling the number of single atoms we can manipulate independently in a single system. These systems will eventually help provide step changes in society’s capability in computing, timing and sensing. Along with a depth of knowledge in photonics and atomic physics, I have experience in ultra-high vacuum systems, cleanroom fabrication, quantum information and scientific programming.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Institute for Quantum Computing.
Canada
• Assisted in the management and day-to-day activities of assembling an ultra-high vacuum chamber containing
an in-house built four-rod ion trap.
• Designed a full optical architecture for an autonomous ion-trap quantum computer with up to 16 individually
addressed qubits.
• Helped to supervise 4 graduate students and 4 undergraduate research students.

Visiting Scholar
Macquarie University.
Australia
• Trained on femtosecond laser fabrication setup.
• Developed fabrication recipes for laser written waveguides with high mode overlap with single mode fibre at blue
and NIR wavelengths.
• Explored diameter tapering of laser written waveguides for mode expansion.
• Fabricated a 10 waveguide chip designed to be suitable for addressing two ion trap segments simultaneously with
3-axis Doppler cooling along with the necessary dark state repumper beams.
