I'm offering
A software developer and designer with extensive experience in building, designing and testing computer systems in various industries including: sales accounting, distribution, manufacturing, construction, and general programming utilities. I am seeking opportunities for cross-training, new skills and challenges, ideally part time,
remote working and/or short term positions.
Like everyone else I want to feel my work is valued, and have no desire for being paid just to occupy a seat.
I have never really experienced the benefits of object orientation, perhaps because I naturally break problems down into manageable and encapsulated chunks, and refactor mercilessly. While I understand the basic mechanics, I am no expert in SOLID principles or design patterns, instead I value code readability and ease of debugging above all else. Of course I appreciate the goal of zero-defect releases, but a rapid turnaround when a problem occurs, and of course adding a regression test to ensure that bug is never shipped again, is much better.
I am quite comfortable with low level coding and have written my own programming language and submitted ~950 samples of that to http://*****.***, so obviously I love solving puzzles and getting things to work, and care deeply about what other people will think when later reading the results of my efforts.

Sole author of Phix, an open source self hosted interpreter/compiler, which has strong emphasis on simplicity and expedient diagnostics. I also keep my skills up to date by reading relevant material on a regular basis, especially tutorials and codeproject entries, and have posted over 950 samples to rosettacode.org/Phix in recent years.
Most recently I have been working on a cryptocurrency arbitrage system, for which I implemented libcurl, SQLite, and exchange-specific api wrappers, as well as websocket, sha-256/512, and hmac routines (all from scratch) as well as most of the gui code, while my collaborator worked on the actual arbitrage code.
