Being the Lead IT support engineer at the company, my main duty is to manage the support desk and its tickets. Through this role I am responsible for a number of unique shipping hardware/software upgrades. This included ship visits to different countries to upgrade and manage the IT systems on ships and back at the head office. Included a network upgrade from managed service provider to the cloud-based Microsoft Azure. I also developed skills on the ship maintenance software ‘Amos’, previously unknown to me but I developed familiarity quickly and efficiently.
