I'm offering
I offer consultancy services, assessing your publications or communications strategy and advising on opportunties to enhance the way you communicate to internal and external audiences, making most efficient use of your communications platforms.
Current clients / members I work with include Brodies Solicitors, Savills, Tilhill Forestry, Forestry Commission, University of Cumbria, Bangor University, UHI, Lantra, Husqvarna etc.
My background and professional competencies:
At the moment, my priority as a communications has shifted to fast response communications to clients / members amidst the Covid-19 crisis. This includes fast tracked video social media campaigns, setting up webinars, managing and optimising audience lists, weekly supply chain updates, members attention.
On a daily basis, I engage with a wide range of stakeholder groups, who often display conflicting views and requirements.
I currently hold an oversight role but get involved in communications and engagement at all level; keeping higher level strategies in mind, I also lead on the technical, content and design development of our communications platforms.
Over the last years, I have got increasingly involved in events management, such as our annual forestry trade show and political conference.
In my role as the sole editor of a feature magazine, I feel very committed to keeping a balance of a structured approach vs flexibility to react to opportunities as they arise.
I have been proactive in managing the budget and increasing income for our magazine, even in the absence of a clearly allocated budget. I furthermore work with my chief executive on improving the way we budget our trade shows.
I work with our organisation’s lobbying staff across the country, encouraging the translation of their activities into communications aimed at different audiences and aligning them with our business priorities. I have shown a commitment to review and streamline the way communication flows within our team and to the various audiences on an ongoing basis.
On a personal level, I particularly enjoy working with people and identifying opportunities to create win-win situations.
I am used to working independently within my area of responsibility and using my own judgement for decision-making. I ask for input from others or delegate as necessary. I am accustomed to managing and prioritising my own work load and working towards deadlines without external supervision.
