I am a native German speaker and translator and have been living and working in London for 10 years. I am passionate about languages and a variety of different texts, genres, and topics, which is why I studied for an M.A. in German and English linguistics, and graduated from Hamburg University in 2008 with a dissertation on Conceptual Metaphor.
I have been working in the online industry for 14 years, mainly involved in multilingual Customer Service in the lottery/gambling industry. This included translating, editing, and creating FAQ sections, CRM and Customer Care email templates, general website content, internal glossaries, guidelines, training material, and other documents.
In 2017 I enrolled in a distance learning course in Translation Studies (MA) at Portsmouth University and will graduate later this year.
I am passionate about learning and during my professional career I have learned to grasp new topics quickly, i. e. by giving staff training on new products or processes.
My personal interests include literature, travelling, photography, psychology, nutrition, music and food. I also own and run an online shop that sells vintage items and fashion.
I enjoy dealing with people and I am very friendly, reliable, and approachable. I have always cared about building a trusting relationship with my customers and on delivering the product that fits their needs.
