I'm offering
I have been translating documents for the past three years and have found a special interest in literary documents (fiction: novels, shortstories, novellas, etc, as well as non-fiction: documentaries, autobiographies, newspaper articles, blog posts, etc...).
I also have some experience subtitling videos - as I have subtitled my own Youtube videos as well as helping with subtitles on one of the play I worked on during my time at Toulouse Jean Jaurès. I was especially involved with adapting the play into subtitles rather than the technological aspect of it. However, I am familiar with several softwares and comfortable learning how to use new ones to provide you with subtitles that fit your needs.
I have also had experience translating personal documents, such as letters, e-mails, Powerpoints, résumés and motivation letters, etc. I work as a freelance translator and have so far only worked for private customers.
During my studies, I put a special emphasis on literary translation techniques and theories, as well as exploring different styles and genres - religious texts, educational documents, poetry, plays, children's literature, etc, as they are what I am most passionate about. At UCL, I was also trained as a Crisis translator, something I would like to explore more in my future professional activities.
My course on technologies has made me abled to use WordFast Anywhere and I would be happy to experiment with Strados or similar softwares of your choosing. ;In the meantime, I can obviously use more basic softwares such as the Microsoft Suite, as well as most video and photo editing softwares.
Occasionnally, I aso practice technical translation - linked to legal, medical and technological documents for example, as well as tourism or entertainment pieces. I would very much be interested in doing more work related to politics, law and general social studies, which is something I have some experience with thanks to my volunteer work.
