Delivery of the Digital Transformation Programme of Siemens Managed Services Infrastructure and Business Estate migration into AWS Cloud. Working against a strategic target operating model and 5-year Business Case road map to reduce costs by 70% against infrastructure hosting, H/W support contracts, environment provisioning, Disaster Recovery and general maintenance and support costs. Savings were also identified re-factoring applications utilizing Oracle Enterprise to transitioning across to Standard Edition RDS making significant savings in licensing costs.
* Recruited and allocated resources to the programme, managing a high-performing delivery team exceeding 50+ resources.
* Involved in the assessment of the technologies and platforms suitable for each case by case application migration which was presented to a Design Authority and Business Stakeholders before a decision was taken to proceed
* The programme split into 5 phases of the journey into cloud, involved initially "Lift and Shift" migrations of applications, and then progressing with utilisation of cloud features with associated operational processes to modernise applications as they got migrated.
* Managed Third Party Vendors and onboarded new Software providers to provide SaaS solutions to replace old legacy systems which were not deemed to be a viable commercial migration
