I'm offering
I love working with words and ideas, either by researching an issue and producing a draft document about it, or by giving a makeover to existing material. My original background was in mental health nursing, which then expanded to include an MSc in Social Policy and a Diploma in Theology; when I was nursing, my manager allocated me to deal with complaints and solicitors' letters, later asking me to draft policies and risk assessments, and to support a colleague whose first language was not English, in writing the essays required to upgrade her nursing registration. Although I can no longer work as a nurse because I am not supple enough to do the mandatory control and restraint updates, I have maintained a knowledge base in healthcare and medical terminology. In my free time, I am compiling a dictionary of first names, and have relished the challenge of exploring medieval cartularies, Norman French and Anglo-Saxon.
