I write online content on the company's blog, more specifically on cargo bikes. They have developed a cargobike specific insurance product, which I helped them with when working with London Green Cycles. I wrote a guide to cargo bikes, how cargo bikes helped during the pandemic and cargobike use for the school run.

Online Content and Community Liaison, Freelance
London Green Cycles.
Cargo bikes and family cycling specialist, independent retailer. I was overseeing the brand & marketing development strategy, social media profile development and website traffic growth. Produced the editorial and photographic content on my client's multiple social media platforms. Overall marketing strategy aimed at developing the business' core activities against its main competitors and grow customer base. Over 5 years, our reach on Twitter grew by 491% and Facebook by 179%. I relaunched the Instagram account and improved the experience of website visitors.
I stimulated online engagement, through rich and varied content, reviews, feedback, and polls. By re-focusing our comms on families, I reversed the gender trend and made substantial reach gains from women. I supported, and at times, initiated the effort to reach out to London boroughs and created opportunities to demonstrate the potential of cargo bikes for services falling under the remit of local authorities. I raised the profile of the company by generating press exposure and reaching out to community, activist groups and taking part in events.
CycleFox - Membership-based online community where people could share their love of cycling in everyday clothes, supporting their high street whilst making their local neighbourhood a better place. My role was to find like-minded businesses and retailers to list on our website and negotiate a small discount for our members. I wrote the content of their individual listing, and sometimes portraits of the owners. I researched and wrote several blog posts, designed the visuals to accompany the digital content and produced social media content. All three platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) grew steadily, mirroring the growth of our membership.
Campaign Coordinator (Consultancy role)
Detention Forum - Consultancy role coordinating the Unlocking Detention campaign in 2019. My role was to ensure its smooth and effective running, in a way that engaged and widened our audience.
This is an annual virtual visit of UK's immigration detention centres, sharing information and opinion pieces, shedding a light on the centres as not many people know about them.
This is a key annual event, in addition to the regular Detention Forum work, which has the potential to influence policy making over the issue of immigration detention. By raising awareness among the public, its primary aim is to encourage people to become advocates for a fairer and human system. Our collaborative #Time4aTimeLimit for instance, calling for a 28-day detention limit, has made its way to policy makers and a consensus has been built around an end to indefinite detention among parliamentarians.
