Managing the establishment of analytical reporting and support to NHS E/I Senior Management and the Department of Health and Social Care for Temporary Staffing across NHS England. Using Excel, Alteryx and Tableau to provide analysis into NHS England expenditure on temporary staffing and analysing the performance of flagship projects to optimise use of temporary staffing, like Collaborative Banks. Maintaining a demanding reporting schedule throughout the pandemic, limiting the pressure on the system.
During this role I was also responsible for developing the model used to forecast staff absence rates throughout the course of the first wave of the pandemic. The model applied populational epidemiological forecasts to staff numbers, using regression analysis to calibrate. As a result of the model senior management were able to plan initiatives to limit the impact of staff absence rates as a result of government policies like school closures, or mandatory testing of front-line staff.
