During this role I worked on site in Derby supporting a deployment of a new gold build OS, the OS was windows 7 enterprise. The unit was brought to us by the user after they had backed up their data, a wet backup was then done before a pixie boot to run the build. The user was given support and basic training on the new build and new office and any extra software were installed from a master disk. Hardware support (exchange of KB, NIC, HDD and CPU. Data was saved to our OpenStack system and enrolling on AWS.

This role was for a Russian company with a confidentiality clause in the contract, I was retained to work on several sites within the UK on both day and night shifts. The purpose of the role was to act as a single point of contact during a site rollout. Included in my responsibilities were planning the site rollout within the project plan (management of rescores, hardware delivery), liaison with the client, configuration and deployment of office 365, Microsoft mobile phones configuration and data transfer from Laptops and Blackberry phones. Deployment of windows 10 and 7, management of stock, asset tracking, report writing, dealing with desktop support, TCP-IP allocation and supplier management. Problems were logged via Remedy but ownership of them was held by me.

I dislocated my right elbow quite badly in nov 2014. This left me unable to work so as my elbow healed, I turned my time to do research along with another person into Diversity acceptance in the workplace.

This involved using SCCM to deploy software to pre-imaged hardware, Pixi-boot building of older hardware. Reporting problems to the development team, unpacking and packing of hardware and logging via a portal the new hardware and user, backup of user data and restoring it, hardware upgrades (RAM, HDD and graphic cards). The build was scripted, we used SCCM to deploy extra software and replace out of date software, Vplayer was used to run virtual XP environments for non-compliant software.

As a member of a refresh team the duties were to check and hand over new laptops to the user, we did the setup of the software and where required swap out of hard disk drives or transfer data. We gave training on the new system, software and answered questions. Once the user handover was done we processed changes to the AD and data migration on the servers. We also took care of scheduling of handovers and tracking users down along with sign off. The new systems were running on windows 7 enterprise with Office 2010, VM wear as a workaround for non-Win 7 software and SCCM management.

This position was to design and build and document an Active Directory system based on 2 Dell servers, one server being the PDC and the other being an Application Server with failover capacity, VM wear server and desktop. Installed and configured IIS, Sage line 50, BacupExe, MacAfee and Symantec antivirus, MS SQL server (Admin and basic scripting). The active Directory was configured with group policy and policy logon scripts. The client PC's were Dell and HP laptops using windows XP with office 2003 pro. All the laptops connected using a Wi-Fi network. Local drives and the My Documents were all mapped in with group policy and logon scripts. The network was built on HP active powered switches which also supported the VoIP phone system, supporting and admin of the phone system.
