Android native backend + 7
We have recently refactored an application to include aspects of the Android Jetpack library suite, specifically migrating to Room persistence library and a LiveDate view model architecture. We require an experienced senior native android developer to lead a small team in supporting and being hands on with development activities and ensuring readiness for production.
The role will require you to evaluate work carried out so far and leading the pull request process and identifying improvements and implement best practices, as well as working on defects and issues raised by the QA team.
As a senior figure you will provide solutions to expand on the current framework for syncing of data between the Android application and the web services, to fix inconsistencies and identify potential code problem areas and rewrite them using best practices. You will be required to lead in Identifying a firm and robust job queue foundation to queue offline requests and send them to our web application.
We will need you to have commercial experience with Web Service Integration in mobile development (REST and JSON). You will have experience in authenticating rest API requests via OAuth and Spring security, experience with using Android WorkManager to trigger rest call jobs made both online and offline. You will need experience with the Android Room and Jetpack framework, strong understanding of underlying architectural requirements and be fully versed in Agile Scrum methodologies.
We expect this work to take around 2 months, 100% remote and need someone as soon as possible.
